Lauren Schwartz launched Kaboom in 1997 and has built the company and its reputation from the ground up. With an astute vision for the industry, she handpicks multifaceted director talent to create entertaining, brand-driven content. Before starting Kaboom, Lauren worked as an executive at BBDO/NY and FCB/SF. She applies this invaluable experience and massive "get it" factor to her EP role, anticipating client needs, and being a resourceful and ever present guide throughout the process. From time to time, she's even called on to be an account manager in collaboration with both agencies and clients. Lauren's hands-on approach includes her collaboration with agencies, clients and directors alike. Building and maintaining relationships is the foundation of this business, and at Lauren's core. Invested in the industry as a whole, Lauren served on the west coast board of the AICP for over 20 years and contributed to various committees over that time. She resides in SF with her husband, two teenage children, and their dog—Lucy—Kaboom's Head of Morale.
Steven Sills is Kaboom’s intrepid Head of Production—a role to which he brings 27 years of national and international production experience working for such companies as Furlined and Headquarters. As a highly skilled producer across numerous platforms, Steven plays a central role in kaboom’s many productions, serving both as HOP and as line producer when the need arises. With the wide array of demands that are required for today’s productions, from very long lead times to an immediate turn-around, having Steve in the thick of things best serves the process, agency, client, and director. It’s part of how Kaboom puts relationships first at every turn. Steve’s career began in Tokyo, where he worked as a writer and producer for Japan’s national broadcast company, NHK. There, he also helped launch an international production service company and worked as a copy editor at The Japan Times. His feature screenwriting debut, Sinner, was awarded Best Narrative Feature by the Brooklyn Arts Council International Film and aired on Showtime. Steve attended film school at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts where he was chosen as a Lew Wasserman Fellow. Steve lives on the east coast with his wife, four children, and one scrappy well-loved mutt. His time as a stand-up comedian continues to serve him well in many situations.
